LOS ANGELES, Sept. 2 (Xinhua ) -- A Los Angeles judge has authorized late pop king Michael Jackson's estate to pay for the huge sum of expense for his interment, local TV network KABC reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff has authorized the administrators of Jackson's estate to pay for Jackson's funeral and interment, which are scheduled for Thursday evening at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale.

The city of Glendale will be paid in full by the estate for its increased police presence at Thursday's funeral, it was reported.

Pop star Michael Jackson waves to supporters as he leaves the Santa Barbara County Courthouse after he was found not guilty in Santa Maria, California in this June 13, 2005 file photo. Jackson died from a lethal dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol given in a cocktail of drugs, leading authorities to suspect his doctor of manslaughter, court documents showed on August 24, 2009

The Jackson family has made it clear that this would be a private ceremony and only family members and close friends are invited to participate. Security will be beefed up around Forest Lawn, Glendale police said.

There is no estimate released yet on just how much the private ceremony will cost.

The city of Glendale is bracing for the function. Several streets will be shut down and a strong police presence will be expected around Forest Lawn Memorial Park, it was announced by the police.

The Great Mausoleum of the cemetery will become Jackson's last resting place, where he'll join Hollywood legends such as Clark Gable, Jean Harlow as well as vivid or life-sized replicas by masters of the Renaissance era.
