娱乐英语新闻:Leona Lewis gets "Happy" with new single

BEIJING, Spet. 9 -- Leona Lewis's new single, "Happy," from her sophomore album "Echo", has hit the Internet with positive reviews.

So far, Digital Spy has had positive things to say about the single, calling it a "strong lead single that sounds like a number one, and . . . a powerful and moving song."

    "Happy" is co-written by Lewis and writer/producer Ryan Tedder and Evan Bogart. The duo was also behind Lewis's break-through hit, "Bleeding Love."

    Yet the title of the song could be considered a misnomer since the song is anything but, with downtrodden lyrics such as: "I can't stand by your side/ And watch this life pass me by/ I don't care about all the pain in front of me/ I just want to be happy."

    Lewis, in an interview with the Daily Mail, said, "The vocal was totally spontaneous. I sang it as soon as we finished writing. Sometimes it's better not to over-think things."

    "Happy" will be available via iTunes on Sept. 15 and will start hitting the radio waves September 21. Lewis's second album "Echo" will be released on Nov. 17.
