The winners were chosen among 41 nominees from 17 countries competing for International Emmys, honoring excellence in TV programming produced outside the United States.

Awards also went to Denmark, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands and Brazil.

Brazil got its first International Emmy for "India: A Love Story" in the "Telenovela" category.

Chinese actor Chen Li was nominated for best actor for his performance in "Ultimate Rescue."
