PARIS, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Due to fragile health, the veteran French rocker Johnny Hallyday has to cancel his 2010 farewell tour expected to begin in January, his production company announced Wednesday.

    The well-known French singer, 66, was still under treatment for full recovery in a hospital in Los Angeles, the United States, after an emergency surgery last week.

    The 160,000 fans who have bought tickets for the tour concert across France will be reimbursed from Monday, Jean-Claude Camus Production said, adding that the cancellation was decided based on medical experts advice.

Hallyday has awoked from an artificial coma on Tuesday and was confirmed "out of danger" by his family.

    The French rocker, honored as Elvis in France, began his performance as a teenager since 1960s and has sold more than 100 million albums.
