娱乐英语新闻:Go green, look after you
BEIJING, Jan. 24 -- Organic and natural skincare products do not necessarily mean better results for your skin but the recent natural beauty boom proves that being "green" goes beyond taking care of the environment.
It's about taking care of yourself.
The average woman applies hundreds of chemicals to her skin everyday and most are unaware of the long-term dangers.
Thus the consumer demand for "natural" is growing worldwide.
Skincare companies touting "natural" positioning are eyeing the market growth in China.
We've already seen the presence of those names such as L'Occitane, Jurlique, Nuxe, Kiehl's and Korres in the market and very soon another world-famous brand, Origins, will open its first counter on the Chinese mainland at Shanghai Nine Sea Parkson in mid-March.
Origins' China launch was held at Beijing Legation Quarter on January 12, attended by Estee Lauder Companies senior vice president and Origins general manager Jane Lauder, and Chia Wen Chen, director of natural products, research and development.
With its introduction in 1990, the brand studied the importance of plants in ancient cultures around the world and they concluded there was something in plant dynamics worth serious attention.
They sourced the highest quality therapeutic plants, 100 percent natural essential oils and certified organic ingredients from around the world.
The commitment to plant and people does not end with the ingredients.
"From day one, Origins was dedicated to the well-being of the consumer and the planet,'' Lauder said.
It pioneered many of the sustainable, earth-friendly manufacturing and packaging practices that have now become industry standards.
It launched an ongoing Plant-A-Tree worldwide to improve the global environment and sustain the growth of trees.
And to celebrate the launch in China, the brand will soon announce a partnership with local reforestation group Million Forest supporting a project in Gansu Province.
