娱乐英语新闻:911 tape released on actor Corey Haim's sudden death

BEIJING, March 17(Xinhuanet)-- The U.S. authorities released the 911 tape on Canadian actor Corey Haim's sudden death at age 38, as his private funeral was held in Toronto, abcNEWS reported on Tuesday.

Haim was dead at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, at 2:15 am local time (2215 GMT), on March 10.

The Los Angeles county coroner's office announced Haim died of pulmonary congestion. But the coroner's office is still waiting for the toxicology results of four bottles of prescribed medicines found in the bathroom before it can decide what actually killed the actor.

In the released 911 tape, Haim's mother Judy called 911 after she found her son collapsed.

"He all of a sudden got out of bed," a upset Judy said in the tape. "He wanted to go to the bathroom and he fell on the floor and I put him on the bed and then that was it."

Haim was remembered by some 200 close friends and family members at Steeles College Memorial Chapel in Thornhill outside Toronto at a service closed to the public.

Haim, a 1980s teen heartthrob, starred in movies such as "Firstborn," "Lucas," "Murphy's Romance," "The Lost Boys," "License to Drive" and "Dream a Little Dream."
