娱乐英语新闻:"Crossing Hennessy" starring actress Tang Wei hits mainland cinema
BEIJING, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Hong Kong writer-director Ivy Ho's romance "Crossing Hennessy," starring Ang Lee's handpicked actress Tang Wei and pop legend Jacky Cheung, hit cinemas across the Chinese mainland Friday.
The film follows two shopkeepers cajoled by their relatives into a series of blind dates, but both have their mind on someone else.
Hennessy road, a key link in Hong Kong connecting western Wan Chai and eastern Causeway Bay, has a long history and is rich in local culture.
Ivy Ho said Hennessy road separates Wan Chai into two parts -- the new and beautiful northern part and the old southern part, thus making for very different characters either side of it.

"There might be a 'Hennessy road' between a man and a woman. Chances are you won't ever get across, but if you do, you'll be together forever," said Ivy Ho, who has won international acclaims for her screenplay of "Tian mi mi," or "Comrades: Almost a Love Story" (1996), starring legendary Maggie Cheung.
The film is Ivy Ho's second feature directing after "Claustrophobia" in 2008.
