娱乐英语新闻:3D technology to be used in Empires of the Deep
BEIJING, April 29 --The latest 3D technology will be used to shoot fantasy film Empires of the Deep, rather than applying post-production 3D techniques like in Clash of the Titans, revealed director Michael French during Empire's press conference Tuesday in Beijing.
The film, with a 100 million U.S. dollars investment and Avatar's virtual camera operator Anthony Arendt consulting, is the largest 3D production in China's film history. It centers on a young man's journey through a mythical underwater mermaid kingdom, where he tries to rescue his father from ferocious underwater creatures while discovering his true identity.
Also at the press conference were the film's lead actors Steve Polites, Olga Kurylenko and Shi Yanfei. Having appeared in Quantum of Solace in 2008 as a Bond Girl, Kurylenko portrays the queen of the mermaid empire in Empires of the Deep.
