娱乐英语新闻:Gigi Leung breaks up with French boyfriend

BEIJING, May 14 -- Hong Kong singer-actress Gigi Leung admits that she has split from her French boyfriend, known only as Sly.

"We decided to be good friends. It will be more comfortable than boyfriend and girlfriend" Leung wrote on her microblog Wednesday.

Tabloids have long been suggesting that Leung's family didn't want her to date a foreigner.

Last July, Leung admitted that Sly had proposed to her, but that she didn't give him an answer. Her busy work schedule aside, Leung said she needed more time to bridge the cultural differences.

Leung began dating Sly in 2006 after ending a seven-year-long relationship with Hong Kong actor Ekin Cheng.
