BEIJING, May 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Young Disney music stars Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato have ended their relationship, claiming that they are still friends, according to media reports Tuesday.

They're no longer a couple, but Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato say they'll remain close. "Things didn't work out but we'll remain friends," Lovato, 17, said via Twitter.

"Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one," Jonas, the 20-year-old Jonas Brothers singer, said. "I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up but I love her as a friend."

The pair first met on the set of Camp Rock in 2007 and went public with their relationship in March. Just last week, Lovato described their "blossoming romance" as her "first serious relationship," claiming "he knows me better than I know myself, and I know him better than he knows himself."

Demi Lovato will still join the tour with the Jonas Brothers this summer, starting July 27 in Dallas.
