娱乐英语新闻:"Avatar" to return with additional 8 minutes

BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhuanet) -- The world's most successful film "Avatar" will return to screens worldwide from August 27th with an additional 8 minutes of unreleased content, Ent.sina.com.cn reports.

This "Avatar: Special Edition" will be screened only in 3D and 3D IMAX and contains 8 minutes of totally new content including some new creatures and action scenes.

Director James Cameron said that since the 'Avatar' screening, he has heard lots of audiences express their affection for Pandora and their demands for more scenes of it. It was people's enthusiasm that urged him to release the special edition and he promised that this would absolutely bring audiences a brand new experience.

Since screening on December 18th, 2009, "Avatar", the 230-million-dollar film, has overwhelmed global audiences with its breathtaking 3D effects and garnered a 2.7 billion US dollars box office. It has become the world's most financially successful movie.
