娱乐英语新闻:Films by Wong Kar-Wai, Ang Lee listed on "Essential 100"

BEIJING, July 22 (Xinhuanet) -- Wong Kar-Wai's romantic drama "In the Mood for Love" and Ang Lee's martial-arts epic "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" are among the must-see movies of all time selected by experts from the Toronto International Film Festival.

The two films rank 52nd and 72nd respectively on the recently released "Essential 100" list that is jointly produced by the festival's stakeholders and curators.

"Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", starring Chow Yun-Fat, Zhang Ziyi and Michelle Yeoh, won four Oscars at the 2001 Academy Awards. The film helped launch Zhang Ziyi's international career.

In the Mood For Love (2000).

"In the Mood for Love", starring Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung, tells a story between two neighbors, who are both married to other people. The film earned Tony Leung the best actor award at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival.

Wong Kar-Wai has another film, "Chungking Express", on the list coming in at 82nd.

Carl Theodor Dreyer's 1928 film "The Passion of Joan of Arc" tops the list, followed by Orson Welles's "Citizen Kane" (1941) and Michelangelo Antonioni's "L'avventura" (1960).

Danny Boyle's "Slumdog Millionaire", winner of the 2009 best film Oscar, ranks 42nd on the list.
