BEIJING, July 24 (Xinhuanet) -- The highly-anticipated Chinese earthquake film "Aftershock," directed by Feng Xiaogang, opened nationwide on Thursday, July 22, and it has moved Beijing audiences to tears.

Director Feng Xiaogang and three lead actors in the film, Xu Fan, Li Chen and Zhang Zifeng, attended the opening ceremony of Huayi Bros. Media Group's first cinema in Beijing and had a brief talk with audience members who had just viewed the film.

Many viewers expressed their great appreciation and gratitude to director Feng and the actors. They said they felt the characters' misery when they lost their beloved relatives in the film and had cried at seeing numerous people buried in the debris.

The first cinema of the Huayi Bros. Media Group in Beijing also opened to the public on Thursday, and the main filming crew of the film "Aftershock" also attended the opening ceremony. Located in the Huacai International commercial center in Wangjing District, the cinema aims to serve nearby moviegoers.
