娱乐英语新闻:HBO eclipses ABC at Creative Arts Emmy Awards

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- American premium cable television network HBO dominated the Creative Arts Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles Saturday evening, taking home 17 awards while ABC trailed with 15.
Ten-part television World War II miniseries "The Pacific" by HBO won seven awards including Outstanding Casting for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special.

"Disney Prep & Landing," ABC's first television special produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios got four and the major production company's "Modern Family," NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and HBO's "The 25th Anniversary Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Concert" each harvested three awards.

AMC's "Mad Men" won for Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, while "Modern Family" took home the award for Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series.

The Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series went to John Lithgow for his turn as serial killer Arthur Mitchell on Showtime's "Dexter," while Neil Patrick Harris was named Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for playing Bryan Ryan on Fox's "Glee."

Ann-Margret was chosen Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her appearance as Rita Wells on NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." Television Hall Of Famer Betty White, 88, picked up the award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for hosting NBC's "Saturday Night Live."
