娱乐英语新闻:Japan denies Paris Hilton entry for drug conviction

BEIJING, Sept. 22 (Xinhuanet) -- Hollywood socialite Paris Hilton was refused entry into Japan for her drug conviction on Wednesday, according to cnn report.

"I'm going back home, and I look forward to coming back to Japan in the future," Hilton told media at Tokyo's airport.

Hilton intended to promote her fashion lines in Tokyo Wednesday. She arrived in Japan on Tuesday evening, but stopped at the airport and spent night at a hotel there to wait local officials’ response.

A Japanese immigration official said Hilton was denied entry Wednesday after a total of about six hours of questioning over the two days.

Japan generally denies entry to foreigners who are convicted of drug offenses.

Hilton pleaded guilty to cocaine possession and obstructing an officer in a Las Vegas court on Monday.

Tokyo was the first stop on Hilton's planned Asia tour, during which she also planned to visit Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia, and open a new retail store in Jakarta of Indonesia.
