娱乐英语新闻:The Robber leads first Austrian film award nominations
VIENNA, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- The Academy of Austrian Films announced on Friday nominations for the first Austrian film award, with a movie about a bank-robber leading the competition.
The Robber, directed by Benjamin Heisenberg, grabbed seven nominations including best feature film, best stage management, best male actor and four other awards.
The movie was adapted from a novel which was based on the true story of an Austrian champion marathoner who led a double life holding up banks in the 1980s. It was considered by some reviewers as also a love story, a character case study and an existential parable.
The Austrian Film Award 2011 sets up 13 categories to honor outstanding films produced in Austria. Forty-one movies, released at domestic cinemas from Oct. 1, 2009 to Nov. 30, 2010, have been listed for nominations.
For each award category, three films were nominated. The academy will determine the winners at the end of January, 2011.
