LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Actor Charlie Sheen checked himself into a rehabilitation center on Friday, his publicist said.
The "Two and a Half Men" star has voluntarily entered a rehabilitation institution a day after being hospitalized for "severe abdominal pains," publicist Stan Rosenfield said. He refused to provide any other details.
The move has forced CBS Corp. and Warner Bros. Television to halt production of top-rated comedy "Two and a Half Men," which is scheduled to resume Tuesday.

"Due to Charlie Sheen's decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing 'Two and a Half Men' on production hiatus," the studio said in a statement.
The 45-year-old comedian, beset by personal and health problems, was released late Thursday night from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was rushed by ambulance Thursday morning for "having severe abdominal pains," Rosenfield said.
Sheen signed a two-year contract in May that made him one of the highest-paid actors on prime-time television, the Los Angeles Times reported.
