国内英语新闻:Chinese New Year celebrated all over the world
In Sydney, people celebrated a Chinese New Year decorated with western elements. Bugs Bunny, the Academy Award-winning animated rabbit, performed the traditional Chinese performance "walking on stilts;" Red envelopes signifying luck and fortune were hung on the trees.
In Sao Paolo, a city known for its own carnival, a Chinese-style carnival with Chinese Kungfu, painting and folk music attracted more than 50,000 people.
In Madrid, a Chinese New Year parade was held for the second year. Many locals came out to watch and even joined in a 1,000-meter long parade that started at Sun Gate Square, where a group of children gathered with "Happy New Year" written in Chinese characters on their hands.
In Buenos Aires, some cultural events were also held to mark the Spring Festival. Dragon dancing and a temple fair became highlights of the festivities.
