英语文摘:Int'l community reaffirms support for China's cause of reunification
BEIJING, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Following the two elections in the Taiwan region in 2024, more countries and international organizations have voiced firm support for China's cause of reunification and resolute opposition to external interference in China's internal affairs.
All the countries and international organizations said that the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory.
"At no point was Taiwan a separate entity from China's mainland," said Timor-Leste's President Jose Ramos-Horta in a statement. From day one of its independence restauration in 2002, Timor-Leste and the People's Republic of China established full diplomatic relations, he said, adding that Timor-Leste continues to adhere unequivocally to the one-China policy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar said in a statement that Myanmar constantly adheres to the one-China policy and reaffirms that Taiwan is an integral part of the People's Republic of China. Myanmar opposes any separatist activities aimed at "Taiwan independence" and foreign interference in internal affairs of other states, it said.
A spokesperson of Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Sri Lanka adheres to the one-China principle and recognizes the government of the People's Republic of China as the sole legal government representing the whole of China. Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, the spokesperson added.
Bangladesh reiterates its firm adherence to the one-China principle, stated the Bangladeshi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Tunisia upholds the one-China principle and the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, and supports China in exercising sovereignty over all its territory, said Tunisian President Kais Saied.
Niger's Foreign Minister Bakary Yaou Sangare said that there is only one China in the world and Niger firmly supports the one-China principle, adding that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. Niger firmly opposes any form of the so-called "Taiwan independence" separatist activities, and firmly supports China's complete reunification and the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations, he said.
Eritrea firmly supports the one-China principle that is predicated on legality and history, said Eritrea Information Minister Yemane Gebremeskel.
Henry Okello Oryem, Uganda's minister of state for international affairs said that the Ugandan government firmly supports the one-China principle, and the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China. Calling Taiwan an inalienable part of China's territory, he said the Ugandan government firmly supports the Chinese government's position on the Taiwan question and the Chinese people's efforts to achieve national reunification.
Kenya's Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary as well as Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs said that Kenya firmly adheres to the one-China policy, calling for respecting China's territorial integrity and non-interference in China's domestic affairs.
Ethiopia still upholds its long-held stand on the one-China principle, said Meles Alem, spokesman for Ethiopia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Tajikistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Tajikistan firmly supports the one-China principle and considers the government of the People's Republic of China to be the only legitimate and representative government of all of China. Recognizing Taiwan as an integral part of the territory of China, Tajikistan resolutely opposes any attempts at external interference in the internal affairs of this friendly country, it added.
Turkmenistan reiterates its firm support for the one-China principle and reaffirms that the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing the whole China, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said.
First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel reiterated Cuba's firm support for the one-China principle. Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, he said, strongly condemning any form of interference in China's internal affairs. Meanwhile, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power, reiterated Cuba's adherence to the one-China principle and the fact that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, adding that Cuba supports China's efforts to achieve its national reunification.
The Office of the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda said in a statement that it has always supported the one-China principle and the efforts of the People's Republic of China toward national reunification.
Reaffirming their firm support for the one-China principle, Humane Colombia Party and the Colombian Communist Party reiterated that the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legal government representing the whole of China, and that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. Both parties resolutely oppose and resist any form of separatist acts.
Fausto Pinato, president of the Brazil-China Parliamentary Front of the Brazilian National Congress, reiterated the support for the one-China principle, saying there is only one China in the world and the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China. Taiwan is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory, he said.
The government of Kiribati reiterated its adherence to the one-China principle recognized when the two countries resumed diplomatic ties in 2019, adding that Taiwan is part of China.
Samiu Kuita Vaipulu, deputy prime minister of Tonga, said Tongo firmly adheres to the one-China policy and supports China's pursuit of peaceful reunification.
The League of Arab States reaffirmed that the Arab side firmly supports China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and firmly adheres to the one-China principle.
