体坛英语新闻：Pele brings in "the next Robinho" to Santos

RIO DE JANEIRO, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pele, helped to bring in on Tuesday the newest member of the Santos soccer team.

    18 year-old Wellington Tindurim signed a contract that will keep him at Santos until December 31, 2010. Pele's objective is to get the player some experience before taking his game to the next level.

    Pele has great confidence in the young player. Enthusiastic with the youngster's arrival, the ex-great player nicknamed Tindurim as "the next Robinho".

    Initially, the player will be used in the team's base of reserve players. This will allow Tindurim to gain experience with the rest of the veterans as well as prepare himself to be called upon to play in the team's starting roster.

    Santos will make their debut in the 2009 Brazilian Championship on May 10 when they face Gremio in Porto Alegre.
