体坛英语新闻:Barcelona President Laporta admits "huge" offer for Eto'o
Eto'o was Barcelona's top scorer in the Primera Liga last season, with 30 goals and he also opened the scoring as Barcelona defeated Manchester United in the final of the Champions League in Rome.
However, Eto'o has a difficult relationship with coach Pep Guardiola and with just one year left on his contract, he could leave for nothing at the end of June 2010.
Speaking on Radio station Lcat FM, Laporta admitted that with that in mind, the club was considering Manchester City's offer.
"I think that Eto'o would like to stay and I would like him to stay. But he has a stratospheric offer that would make him the best paid player in the World," said Laporta.
Reports in Spain say Eto'o would earn around 210,000 Euros a week from Manchester City, a club whose owners are from Abu Dhabi.
Meanwhile Barcelona would receive around 30 million Euros for the sale of the 28-year-old. Laporta insisted that if that was the case, the club would reinvest in new signings and hinted that Barcelona would like to buy Bayern Munich's Frank Ribery.
"He is a player we like a lot, Bayern knows that and so does Frank. Real Madrid is also interested, but Bayern says he's not for sale. If they change their mind, we will be interested," confirmed Laporta, who added the club was also close to signing Brazilian forward Keirrison.
