体坛英语新闻:Dominik named Czech ice hockey player of year at 45
PRAGUE May 4 (Xinhua) -- Dominik Hasek, one of the best of all time ice hockey goalkeepers of the world was named the player of 2009/2010 Czech championship.
Hasek, 45, was also named the best goalie and best player in the championship's play-offs.
During his 16 seasons in US-Canadian National Hockey League (NHL), he played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Buffalo Sabres, Detroit Red Wings, and the Ottawa Senators.
From 1993 to 2001, he won six Vezina Trophies, and in 1998 he became the first goalkeeper to win consecutive Hart Trophies. During the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano he won with the Czech national ice hockey team Olympic gold medal.
After his return to Czech Republic, The Dominator, as they called him, decided to retire, but last year he returned to help his team of HC Eaton Pardubice in the Czech championship.
His comeback was an absolute success, and especially his unbelievable performance in the play-offs helped his team to win the Czech ice hockey Extraliga.
