体坛英语新闻:China down Vietnam 5-0 to claim first victory at 17th Women's Asian Cup
CHENGDU, Sichuan Province, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Hosts China claimed their first victory at the 17th AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Women's Asian Cup here on Friday as they beat Vietnam 5-0 in the Group B second round match.
China, who has reached the final of the Asian Cup in 10 of the last 11 editions, proved that they were too strong for Vietnam, taking the absolute dominance on the field at the Chengdu Shuangliu Sports Center.
China opened their scoring in the seventh minute when defender Li Danyang headed in Liu Huana's fine cross, four minutes before Yuan Fan netted in captain Bi Yan's corner.
