CANBERRA, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Australian Socceroos were defeated 0-4 in their opener in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Tens of thousands of Socceroos fans ended up in confusion and tears. But thankfully they still have passion and confidence in the nation's bid for 2022 World Cup.

Some of the fans flew to South Africa and camped outside the stadium in Durban. Australian media used "Hugs, kisses ... tears" to describe the scene in South Africa before the game.

The Australian team arrived 90 minutes prior to the match against Germany, and flew to the "front line" to have close contacts with their loyal fans. They kissed their families and hugged supporters and had pictures.
