体坛英语新闻:Scolari denies interest in coaching Brazil again
JOHANNESBURG, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Luiz Felipe Scolari said on Sunday that he had no plan to coach Brazil again but hinted he would like to lead a national team at 2014 World Cup in his homeland.
Scolari told Brazil's Radio Eldorado in South Africa, where he is working as a commentator for a local TV network, that he wouldn't be able to accept any offers until after 2012, but saying "It would be wonderful to finish my career coaching a national team in the World Cup in Brazil."
Brazil coach Dunga said he would not stay with the team after his side lost 2-1 to the Netherlands in the World Cup quarterfinals and Scolari, who led the five-time champions to glory in 2012, is top of the list to replace him.
But Scolari said his focus for the next two years will be with Brazilian club Palmeiras, who signed a two-year contract with Scolari just before the World Cup.
"My focus is with Palmeiras," Scolari said. "After my contract is over we will see if there is any national team interested for the qualifiers and the World Cup."
Brazil will host the World Cup in 2014 for the first time since 1950.
