RIO DE JANEIRO, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Sao Paulo's head coach Ricardo Gomes was fired on Friday, just one day after the team was eliminated from the semifinals of the Libertadores Cup.
Sao Paulo had 38 wins, 15 losses and 20 draws under Gomes' 13-month reign.
Assistant coach Milton Cruz was named the interim head coach and will face his first test when they play Atletico-PR in the Brazilian soccer championship on Sunday.
