体坛英语新闻:Five South American countries among FIFA's top 20 world rankings
MEXICO CITY, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- Soccer ruling body FIFA released on Wednesday its latest world rankings which include five South American countries among the top 20.
Brazil was down one spot to be fourth, followed by Argentina in fifth. Brazil currently has 1,480 points, just 10 points off the third placed Germany
Meanwhile, Argentina remains fifth with 1,351 points.
Uruguay is seventh with 1,182 points, just nine points away from England which is sixth with 1,191 points.
Chile is 10th with 1,004 points. Since 2007, Chile has gone up 24 places.
Paraguay was down two spots to be 17th while Mexico ranks 28th.
Meanwhile, Spain remains atop with 1,824 points, followed by the Netherlands and Germany.
