According to local media reports, the Real IRA, a dissident republican group, has claimed responsibility for the gun attack outside a British military barracks in County Antrim, northwest of Belfast late Saturday, leaving at least two killed and four others wounded.

It was the first deadly attack on British troops in Northern Ireland since February 1997.

The Real IRA was also responsible for the massive Omagh bombing in Northern Ireland in 1998 which killed 29 people.
