国际英语新闻:Tehran rejects reports on DPRK arms shipment to Iran
Media claims on the seizure of a ship carrying weapons from the DPRK to Iran are baseless, a well-informed source told Fars on Sunday on condition of anonymity.
It is aimed at diverting attention of the world public opinion from the positive results of the new UN nuclear watchdog report on Iran's nuclear program, he added.
"At a time when Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is in its best form, unfortunately, a number of Western media which are under the influence of the Zionist (Israeli) lobbies are trying to ... spread fabricated reports," Fars quoted the source as saying.
Media reports released on Friday said the United Arab Emirates had seized a ship allegedly carrying weapons from the DPRK to Iran.
According to the reports, the weapons were seized on Aug. 14 in the ship called the ANL-Australia which belongs to Australia and was flying a Bahamas flag.
