DAVOS, Switzerland, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- The 40th World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting closed here on Sunday after discussing a wide range of global issues.

More than 200 sessions were held in five days, with topics particularly focusing on post-crisis economic recovery, the improvement of financial regulation, climate change, and the reconstruction of quake-devastated Haiti.

While recognizing the difficulty in reaching agreements on such global issues as financial regulation and climate change, many participants at the meeting highlighted the importance of continuous global collaboration in addressing them.

The meeting in the Swiss skiing resort drew the participation of more than 2,500 leaders from over 90 countries, representing business, government, civil society, academia and the media.

WEF officials have said that the Davos forum is not a decision-making place, and it means to provide a platform for all stakeholders in the world to discuss pressing issues facing the world.
