国际英语新闻:Clinton urges Iran to reconsider its "dangerous" nuclear policy
DOHA, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sunday urged Iran to reconsider its nuclear program in what she said was "dangerous policy decisions."
Clinton's remarks came a few days after Iran declared the enrichment of 20 percent uranium fuel, which further raised tensions with the West over its nuclear ambition.
Speaking at the U.S.-Islamic World Forum during her visit to Qatar, Clinton said Washington and its allies were working on new measures to persuade the Islamic Republic to divert its nuclear policy.
She also said the Obama administration wants a peaceful solution to the nuclear dispute, but added that patience would not be unlimited.
The chief U.S. diplomat is in Doha for a two-day visit that U.S. officials said was part of the Obama administration's efforts to improve ties with the Muslim countries.
She will also visit Saudi Arabia and discuss with Saudi leaders the security concerns in Yemen and other hot-spot issues.
Washington and its allies have accused Iran of developing nuclear weapons under the guise of a civilian nuclear program, a charge adamantly denied by Iran, who insists its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
