国际英语新闻:Palestinians in Damascus protest Israel's shrine plan
Damascus, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of Palestinian demonstrators gathered on Friday in Yarmouk refugee camp in suburban Damascus, protesting Israel's plans to include historical sites located in the West Bank to its heritage list.
The angry protestors waved Palestinian flags and carried banners with slogans, chanting their outrage against Israel's decision.
Earlier this week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved an Israeli government declaration, which considers Rachel 's Tomb in Bethlehem and the Cave of the Patriarchs (Sanctuary of Abraham) in Hebron as Jewish sites. These two sites in the West Bank are sacred to both Muslims and Jews.

Israel's decision has raised condemns all over the Arab world, especially among the Palestinian people living in the West Bank.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas warned Tuesday that the region could plunge into a "religious war" over the decision.
