国际英语新闻:15 killed as goods train rams passenger train after suspected rebel attack in India
NEW DELHI, May 28 (Xinhua) -- At least 15 people were killed and 150 others injured when a speeding goods train rammed into a derailed coach of a passenger train in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal, after suspected extreme left-wing Naxal rebels blew up a track early Friday morning, said West Bengal Police.
Police said the Naxal role cannot be ruled out in this tragedy. Indian Railway Minister Mamata Barnerjee is rushing to the spot and has promised compensations for the victims.
Authorities are rushing the para-miliary Central Reserve Police Force to the spot after the incident, said Indian Home Secretary G. K. Pillai.

TV footages showed a coach of the Gyaneshwari Express passenger train was completely reduced to junks with people still being trapped inside, while several bodies were seen lying on the ground near the railway track.
The incident took place after suspected Naxal rebels blew up a part of the Howrah-Tata railway in early morning at around 01:30 a. m. near the Sardiha town of Western Bengal. Thirteen bogies of the passenger train were derailed.
So far fifteen bodies have been recovered and rescuers are dispatching the injured to hospitals of nearby cities of Kharagpur and Jhargram, said local TV channel Times Now and cnn-IBN.
Some 12 to 14 doctors are treating the patients on the spot and a special medical train is sending the injured to the nearby cities, said the reports.
