NEW YORK, June 17 (Xinhua) -- New York Times Square bomb suspect Faisal Shahzad appeared in a U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Thursday. He was charged with 10 terrorism and weapons counts.
Shahzad, who was allegedly trying to set off a car bomb in Times Square on May 1, was indicted by a federal grand jury.
Pakistani-born Shahzad, who became a U.S. citizen in 2009, has been indicted on 10 charges, including attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and attempted terrorism transcending national borders.
