国际英语新闻:Flash floods kill 114 in India-controlled Kashmir
SRINAGAR, India-controlled Kashmir, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- At least 114 people were killed, hundreds injured and many missing Friday after flash floods from a cloud bust hit a major town in the mountainous area of Ladakh in India-controlled Kashmir Kashmir, said officials.
The flash floods and mud slides triggered after a sudden downpour Thursday night in Leh caused a massive damage in the area washing away buildings.
Police, army and civil administration have launched rescue operations on massive scale.

Around 400 critically injured have been evacuated from the affected areas and some have been admitted in army hospital Leh, army officials involved in rescue work said.
Disaster Management officials said the death toll can go up further.
Ladakh is a famous tourist destination and so far there is no news about death of any foreign tourist in the flash floods.
Indian defense officials said 25 army personnel are reported missing and the High Altitude Research of Indian army has also been damaged.
Reports said army personnel have been mobilized to carry out rescue operations in the area.
