Four people were injured, and the wife of the man celebrating his wedding anniversary was not among those injured, the Buffalo News reported.
The party, involving more than 100 people, was held to celebrate a wedding that took place last year. The groom was one of those killed, the police said.
All victims had just attended the party in Buffalo's business district. The shooting occurred at about 2:30 a.m., according to reports.
Authorities have not released the identities of the victims, which included two men, 26 and 30, and two women, 27 and 32.
Authorities reportedly do not know how many shooters were involved. The investigation is ongoing.
