TEHRAN, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Iran denied on Sunday the earlier reports that the country's border guards had detained seven U.S. troops, the local satellite Press TV reported.
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) rejected the reports that Iran had recently arrested seven U.S. troops and called the news "unfounded," Press TV said.
Earlier in the day, Iran's Raja News website reported that Iran has detained seven U.S. troops who were trying to enter the country from Pakistani borders.
Recently some U.S. troops who intended to enter Iran from its southern borders were arrested by the border guards, said the website.
Reportedly, seven U.S. troops and their two Iranian companions who intended to enter the Islamic Republic from Koohak bordering area in Pakistani border, located in Iran's Sistan-Baluchestan province, were arrested by Iranian border guards, the Raja News said.
It is reported that two Iranians accompanying the U.S. troops have managed to escape, added Raja News.
