国际英语新闻:Israel restarts West Bank settlement construction
The PNA wants to convene Arab League foreign ministers next week.
"If there is no understanding on the settlement freeze, we will go back to the Palestinian institutions and the Arab League," Abbas told the London-based pan-Arab Al-Hayat newspaper.
Abbas, after a meeting in Paris on Sunday with Jewish leaders, said the only option Israel had was "either peace or settlements."
"If it's peace, then it's through talks. If (Israel) doesn't choose it, it will be a waste of time, a waste of opportunities," said Abbas, who is scheduled to meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Monday.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak is expected to offer Netanyahu a compromise that would allow to continue partial building in the West Bank, and keep Palestinians at the negotiating table.
Barak returned to Israel on Sunday after working out the details of the plan with Obama Administration officials. Officials at the prime minister's Office have not released details, or indicated whether Netanyahu will accept the plan or not.
