国际英语新闻:Iran ready to resume nuclear talks in late October
TEHRAN, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Iran said it preferred to resume talks with G5+1 (five permanent members of UN Security Council plus Germany) over Iran's nuclear program at the end of this month or in early November, the semi-official ISNA news agency reported Saturday.
"Late October or early November is an appropriate time for negotiations between representatives of Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said in a joint press conference with his Cuban counterpart Bruno Eduardo Rodriguez Parrilla in Tehran.
"The exact date is being studied by the two sides and it will be made public after it is finalized," Mottaki was quoted as saying.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Tuesday that Iran will support talks with the West which leads to the recognition of its nuclear rights.
Western countries have called on Tehran to halt its sensitive nuclear program but the country has ruled out the calls and insisted that its nuclear activities are aimed at civilian purposes.
