国际英语新闻:Abbas rejects Netanyahu's warnings over PNA's threat to appeal to UN
RAMALLAH, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday rejected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's warnings over the PNA's threat to unilaterally appeal to the UN Security Council.
Abbas said during a tour in Bethlehem in the West Bank "there are so many unilateral actions that Israel has been carrying out over the past 30 years."
Abbas accused Israel of violating an agreement signed between the PNA and Israel in 1995 that every side is not allowed to carry out unilateral actions that would harm the outcomes of the talks on the final status issues.

"The settlement construction, the incursions, the roadblocks and all actions on the Palestinian lands are unilateral actions that Israel has been carrying out for years. Netanyahu has simply ignored these actions," Abbas said.
Israel hasn't implemented any of its commitments in the roadmap plan for peace in the Middle East that was initiated by the United States in 2003, he added.
Netanyahu urged on Sunday the Palestinians to avoid unilateral actions and to resume the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. He said the Palestinian plan to appeal to the UN and quit the direct negotiations "won't help the peace process between the two sides."
The Palestinian leadership decided to halt the direct peace talks with Israel launched in Washington on Sept. 2 after Israel refused to extend a 10-month moratorium over freezing settlement construction in the Palestinian territories, despite U.S. and international pressure.
