国际英语新闻:Cooperative approach can facilitate negotiations between Iran, G5+1: MP
TEHRAN, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said Saturday a cooperative approach can facilitate the negotiations between Iran and the G5+1.
He stressed during a press conference the world powers should never expect nuclear concessions from Tehran because the Iranian government will never give up the country's nuclear rights, saying "they should not expect anyone to retreat from the Iranian nation' s rights in future struggles."
Both sides can benefit from discussing common points including global nuclear disarmament and regional security, he said.
Referring to the recent Geneva talks between Iran and the world powers on Monday and Tuesday, the speaker said, "Despite ups and down, the Islamic Republic of Iran stood on the nation's interests and gave its message to the opposite side."

He reiterated acquisition and use of the civilian nuclear technology is part of the "country's national interests."
The two-day talks between Iran and the six major powers ended on Tuesday with both sides agreeing to hold a new round of talks in January in Istanbul.
European Union (EU)'s foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton and Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili said at the end of the meeting that Iran and major world powers agreed to continue the talks on Iran's nuclear program in late January 2011 in Istanbul.
Ashton said the parties had conducted "detailed and substantive talks focusing on the Iranian nuclear program and the need for Iran to comply with these international obligations."
However, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Jalili said at the press conference after the Geneva nuclear talks that the only agreement reached by all sides is to hold further talks in Istanbul in January 2011, a gathering that provides opportunity for "talks in cooperation to find common grounds."
Iran will not discuss the issue of nuclear enrichment, as "the Iranians' right", in the potential Istanbul talks either, Jalili said stressing the enrichment issue as the Iranians' inalienable right is unnegotiable and Iran will only talk on the multifaceted global issues.
