国际英语新闻:Top RBA official takes OECD financial markets chair
SYDNEY, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Assistant Governor Malcolm Edey has been elected chairman of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) committee on financial markets, the RBA announced on Wednesday.
Edey was previously seconded to the economics department of the OECD between 1992 and 1995.
"In the mid 1990s he spent three years at the OECD in Paris where he worked as a senior economist in the money and finance division," the RBA said in a statement on Wednesday.
In December 2010 he was elected chairman of the OECD committee on financial markets.
He was appointed to his current position as assistant governor overseeing the financial system in April 2009.
