国际英语新闻:Obama: Education Cornerstone to Future Job Gains
President Barack Obama says improving math and science education are key to the United States competing for new jobs and industries.
Mr. Obama recorded his weekly address during a visit to Intel Corporation in the western United States.
He said his administration has made education a top priority and that over the next ten years almost half of all new jobs will require more than a high school education.
Mr. Obama said the United States has everything it needs to compete for new jobs and industries. He said the country has bold entrepreneurs, bright new ideas and world class colleges and universities.
While Mr. Obama talked jobs, Republican Representative Tom Price praised his party's push to cut $60 billion from the federal budget. He said Republican reforms will focus on getting the country's debt under control while providing health and retirement security for Americans.
