World Health Officials say they are very concerned about an outbreak of the swine flu. So far, the virus has killed dozens and sickened 1,000 people in Mexico. People in California and Texas have also gotten ill. Health officials say they are alarmed because the fatalities were in young people and adults.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is in Iraq for the first time as the U.S. top diplomat. She says Iraq is on the right track, but that there will be bad days as Iraq continues to merge as an independent state.
North Korea's news agency says the communist country has begun to reprocess spent fuel rods from its nuclear power plant. This latest move would allow the North to produce weapons-grade plutonium. Earlier this month North Korea expelled international nuclear monitors.
Today is the first day of the NFL draft. And with the first pick, the Detroit Lions are going to pick quarterback Matthew Stafford. The former Georgia signal caller has agreed to a six-year-deal that could be worth 78 million dollars, more than 41 million of that is guaranteed.
