Q1. Good evening Shen Le, you went to the expo and as we saw in your story, the major telecommunication carriers are churning out applications that's going to link more devices to their networks. What's the benefit of that?
Q1. 晚上好沈乐，你去过展览会，正如我们在你的报道中看到的，主要电信运营商正大量生产更多设备联系到他们网络的应用程序。这有什么好处呢？

SL: First of all, this process generates raw data in a real-time. The telecommunication companies have built powerful servers to make sense of the data and produce visualized results. This allows on-the-fly monitoring of individual units or vehicles connected to the network, be it a bicycle or a bus. The benefits are obvious. In the case of the bus-transit system, the coordinators can adjust the number of busses on the same route based on the number of people taking that bus at a particular time of the day. After a long period, they can actually build mathematical models derived from the accumulated data. This will help the coordinators assess whether a route is optimized or not. In the case of bike rentals, a handful of staff will be able to manage thousands of bikes, because the entire rental experience will be automated for customers. The staff only have to intervene when something unusual happens.
SL：首先，这个过程产生了实时的原始数据。电信公司已经建立了强大的服务器来弄清这些数据和产生直观效果。这使得个人或交通工具的快速监控连接到网络上，不管它是自行车或公共汽车。好处是非常明显的。在公交车系统中，负责人可以根据每天特定时期坐一辆公交车的人数来调整同一路线公交车的数量。长期以后，他们可以从累积的数据中建立数字模型。这样可以帮助负责人评估一条道路是否得到充分利用。对于自行车租赁，只需少量的工作人员就可以管理成千上万辆自行车，因为整个租赁服务体验对于顾客来说是自动化的。只有当出现特殊情况时，工作人员才加以干预。

Q2. We also saw in your story that the exhibition has seen a huge turn out. Apart from the idea of connecting everything to the Internet, what are some other things people are showing interest in?

SL: There's a huge amount of applications and adaptations out there. In the green energy field, we saw gigantic wind turbines made of bamboo, and solar panels with efficiency rates as high as 42 percent. Cloud computing solutions, which in plain English, does almost everything from streaming music to your portable device and storing your documents on the web. Companies like UnisPark are applying voice recognition to robots, so they can respond to simple commands like "Read a poem to me" or "What's the weather like today?" Just imagine robotic butlers for each and every household! In general, the exhibits that are close to commercial release are the most popular, because they provide a glimpse into what day-to-day life may look like in the near future.
