盲人图书馆为盲人带来动力

The biggest braille library in China has been completed in Beijing. With thousands of books in various fields, and all kinds of helpful tools, the library offers visually impaired people a brand new way of enjoying reading.
中国最大的盲人图书馆在北京落成。这个图书馆有成千上万册不同领域的书籍和各种有用的工具，为视力有障碍的人提供了一种全新的享受阅读的方式。

With more than 50,000 books available, along with audio materials, a nationwide circulation service, classes and seminars, and entertainment activities, the library marks a new chapter in the lives of China’s visually impaired.
这个图书馆有5万多本可以借阅的书以及音频资料、全国流通服务、课程和研讨会、娱乐节目，它为中国视障人士的生活翻开新的篇章。

But it’s not easy to turn a normal book to braille. Proofreaders often need to check the copy 3 times, word by word.
但是要把一本普通的书变成盲文却不容易。校对者需要把副本逐字检查3次。

Li Weiyi and Yin Menglan are one of the newest pair of proofreaders in the library. They have checked and edited 20 books in just 3 months.
Li Weiyi 和Yin Menglan是这间图书馆最新的一对校对员之一。他们在三个月内检查、编辑了20本书。

Li Weiyi, proofreader of China Braille Press, said, "In the beginning, I was not familiar with reading by touching pages. Sometimes I made mistakes in English pronunciation which brought trouble to my partner, Menglan. I practiced a lot. And now, I think I am qualified for this work. "
中国盲文出版社的校对员Li Weiyi表示：“开始我不熟悉通过触摸书页来阅读。有时我会在英文发音上出错，这给我的拍档Menglan带来麻烦。我经常练习。现在，我觉得我能胜任这份工作。”

Yin Menglan, proofreader of China Braille Press, said, "There are not enough Braille books for visually impaired people. I hope I can do my best to bring give people a more colorful life through reading."
中国盲文出版社的校对员Yin Menglan表示：“视障人群的书不够多。我希望可以尽我最大的努力，通过阅读为他们带来更多彩的生活。”

The library provides visually impaired people with not only books, but also audio equipment with which they can listen to rather than read the books.
图书馆不仅为视障人群提供书籍，还提供音频设备，让他们可以听，而不只是读书。

Tang Lizhen, researcher & developer, said, "China braille press has independently developed products for blind people since 2005. Our teams work on useful tools such as touching, hearing and residual visual. We devote ourselves to producing things for those who need them the most."
调查者兼开发者Tang Lizhen称：“中国盲文出版社自2005年以来就为盲人独立开发产品。我们小组致力于开发有用的工具，例如触摸的、听的、残余视觉的。我们致力于为那些最需要它们的人生产东西。”

Authorities say China has about 10 million visually impaired people. China’s Braille Press offers a comprehensive service for the visually impaired. They hope their vital service can give people used to living in the dark, light and empowerment.
有关部门透露，中国视力有障碍的人大概有1000万。中国盲文出版社为视障人士提供了综合服务。他们希望他们极重要的服务可以给那些习惯生活在黑暗中的人们带来光明和许可。
