驻华大使们在四川学习中国文化

The joint opening ceremony for"2012 Friendship Communication of Ambassadors and Madams on Knowing Chinese Culture," and the Theme Activity of Exploring DuJiangYan in Sichuan Province was held Tuesday at the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. More than 50 ambassadors attended the ceremony and enjoyed various activities with their families.
 “2012驻华使节&夫人中国才艺大赛”及探索四川省都江堰市主题活动的联合开幕式周二在中国人民对外友好协会举行。50多名使节参加了开幕式，并和他们的家人享受了各种各样的活动。

The theme of the opening ceremony is to introduce Dujiangyan City in Sichuan Province to the ambassadors. As the first activity of 2012 Friendship Communication, from April 2 to April 5, ambassadors to China will visit the city and participate in training sessions and competitions, including tea art, martial arts and Chinese cooking.
开幕式的主题是向使节推荐四川省都江堰市。作为2012年驻华使节&夫人中国才艺大赛的首项活动，从4月2日自4月5日，驻华使节将参观这座城市，参加培训课程和比赛，其中包括茶艺、武术和中式烹饪。

The organizer says that Dujiangyan has the most colorful Chinese culture, and inviting ambassadors to the city is the best way to introduce Chinese culture to the world.
组织者称，都江堰拥有最丰富多彩的中国文化，邀请使节来这座城市是将中国文化推荐给世界的最好方法。

Xing Jun, secretary general of Friendship Communication Org., said, "Firstly, Sichuan has pandas, which are well known around the world; the second one is Sichuan food, which takes up an important part in Chinese cuisine; the third one is martial arts. All of these can be found in Dujiangyan City, so how can we not choose it?"
驻华使节&夫人中国才艺大赛秘书长邢军表示：“首先，四川拥有闻名全世界的熊猫；第二个是川菜，川菜是中国菜的一个重要部分；第三个是武术。所有这些都可以在都江堰市找到，所以我们怎么能不选择它呢？”

To give the guests a first impression, masters from Dujiangyan were invited to the opening ceremony to give performances. A Sichuan-style big teapot performance took the lead.
为了给客人们留一个第一印象，都江堰的大师被邀请到开幕式上进行表演。首先上场的是川式大茶壶。

The Argentina Ambassador to China couldn't wait to give it a try.
阿根廷驻中国大使迫不及待地试了一试。

Gustavo A. Martino, Argentina Ambassador to China, said, "It's very interesting."
阿根廷驻中国大使Gustavo A. Martino称：“非常有趣。”

Besides the big teapot, Sichuan is also famous for Qingcheng martial arts.
除了大茶壶，四川也以青城武术而闻名。

It looks simple, but it's still very hard to do. For those who just came to China not long ago, it is truly a new world.
它看起来简单，但是很难打。对那些刚到中国不久的人而言，这真的是一个新世界。

Gonzalo Gutierrez Reinel, Ambassador of Peru, said, "I just arrived. I've been here for four months. So it's a new world for me, and I would like to learn as much as possible."
秘鲁大使Gonzalo Gutierrez Reinel表示：“我刚到中国。我来这里只有四个月。所以对我而言这是一个新世界，我愿意尽可能多地学。”

The best and the difficult part comes last. Since Sichuan is the hometown of the panda, ambassadors and madams are invited onto the stage to paint a panda in the way of traditional Chinese ink painting.
最精彩也是最难的一部分在最后。由于四川是熊猫的故乡，使节和夫人被邀请到台上，用传统的中国水墨画画熊猫。

This madam seems very good at ink painting. But for her, as wife of Japanese consular visa officer, winning the competition may not be the most important, but building a lasting friendship between her country and China.
这位夫人似乎非常擅长水墨画。但是作为日本领事签证官的妻子，赢得比赛对她而言可能不是最重要的，最重要的是她的国家和中国可以建立长久的友谊。

Janny Zheng, wife of Japanese diplomat, said, "In Japan, we faced the earthquake, and Chinese people had the same problem."
日本外交官的妻子Janny Zheng表示：“在日本，我们遭遇过地震，中国人民也有相同的问题。”

Friendship Communication of Ambassadors and Madams on Knowing Chinese Culture established in 2002. It always focuses on promoting Chinese culture to foreign nations, and aims to reveal the authentic image of China.
