迪斯尼的电影关注黑猩猩

In honour of Earth Day, Disney is releasing a movie all about chimpanzees. Looking at the extraordinary life of a little chimp called Oscar, the film shows how he manages when he is left alone in the wild. Let's go for a swing through the jungle.

Jane Goodall made observing chimpanzees cool and now Disney is bringing it to the masses.

Jane Goodall said, "It is, without exception, easily the best film on chimpanzees I've ever seen, probably the best on any animal, and you know that's partly because of the extraordinary cinematography and not just of the chimpanzees, which is incredible, but also the fantastic scenery and the shots deep in the forest, the mystery of the forest, the grandeur of the scenery."

The film focuses on the story of Oscar and his life after his mother is killed.

Alastair Fothergill, director, said, "We start with him, he's six weeks old, and follow him for the three most extraordinary years of his life, A terrible tragedy happens halfway through the film because his mother is killed by a leopard, but then something even more extraordinary happens and our film does have a happy ending."

It was shot in Africa's Cote d'Ivoire, with actor Tim Allen providing the only human presence in the movie. His voiceover -- imagining what the chimps are thinking at any given moment -- makes for a unique kind of wildlife movie.

"Chimpanzee" opens on Earth Day, April 20th, in the US. A portion of the box office proceeds earned in the first week of the film's release will be donated to the Jane Goodall Institute to promote chimpanzee conservation.
