中国发布伦敦奥运代表队名单
President of the Chinese Olympic Committee, Liu Peng has released the final roster for the Chinese Olympic delegation that will attend the London 2012 Games. During the 17 day Games, more than 10 thousand athletes from 205 countries and regions will take part.
Finally, the list has been set and those on it know they will indeed be going to London.
The Chinese delegation will compete in every sport, except for football, equestrianism and handball. The delegation is made up of more than six-hundred people, including about four-hundred athletes. The average age of the athletes is below 25, with the youngest only 14 years old. Twenty-nine athletes won gold medals at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.
Meanwhile, details of the China-Paralympic Team were also released on Tuesday. Around three-hundred athletes will participate in 15 sports , such as wheelchair basketball, and seated football.
Lu Dong, swimmer, said, "This is the first time I will attend the Paralympic Games. A Paralympics gold medal is a dream for every disabled athlete. I hope I can win a gold medal through my training and hard work."
The China Disabled Persons' Federation has made great efforts in team management, anti-doping and athletes education in order to ensure the events run smoothly.
