中国与印度的文化交流

Next year, 2014 will see a series of cultural exchanges events between China and India. According to the Chinese embassy to India, these events will include film festivals and Spring festival celebrations, as well as youth communications.

"The two countries will hold a series of cultural exchange events. This events, including Spring Festival celebrations, film festivals and youth delegations from both sides, will serve to cement the ground of cultural exchanges and cooperation." Said Zhang Hongzhi, cultural counselor of Chinese embassy to India.

2014 is the Year of Friendship and Exchange for China and India. It is under an agreement signed by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh in May this year. The two countries will boost cooperation in art, cultural industry, education, youth communication and the media, as well as mass communication. The agreement also includes the two sides encouraging translations of each other’s literature.

China and India have very active people to people communications. 600,000 Chinese people visited India last year, demonstrating the huge tourism potential.
